Since the Heat are now closer to heading towards their off-season than they are the second round of the playoffs - I am creating this thread now. Maybe they pull themselves together next game and prolong the series a little bit longer - don't hold your breath.

Read an article this morning in the Miami Herald all but confirming moves will be made

It said Pat and the front office wanted to give this group a full season considering they went 30-11 to end last year. Inside the organization they were hoping the team would have pushed close to 50 wins, get HCA in round 1, and win a series.

They had 7 losses vs the Nets, Magic, & Kings.

That is the difference with being a 44 win 6th seed and a 51 win 3rd seed.

Like Ira, I am not saying the Heat should and will trade Richardson, but they have certainly talked him up enough throughout the season, especially on defense, that they can at least entertain the idea of trading him and see what teams would be willing to give up for him.

If the Heat want to acquire a draft pick, which they could use -- I think Richardson is a guy they could move to try and get it.

I disagree

Also, interesting game tonight where the Celtics took it to the 76ers minus their two best players. Amazing what a well coached team can do.

Interesting article indeed. Riley saying he needs to intervene between Spolestra and Whiteside tells you all you need to know about what Riley thinks. He had to do it with the Big 3 as well.

Did the Heat really ever have a game plan?
It usually took half the game to see which players were going to be effective on a nightly basis.
The experiment did fail.
The Heat need to up their talent and shorten the nightly rotation.

Yeah I agree.

As I said on the thread on this board for the playoffs, we need more talent. Hard to win 4 out of 7 without any real talent when you're going up against guys who are stars and will likely be superstars at this time next season

Something was just missing. Its not all about stars/talent.
I know its just 1 game, but Boston looked so much more prepared.

We'll see. Boston got lucky IMO on defense. Philly not going to go 5-26 from 3. Usually when they shoot bad from 3, they lose.

They shot bad in games 2 & games 4. We won game 2 and absolutely gave game 4 away.

Philly like us live and die by the 3 ball

There was a plan - but its hard for that plan to be put to work when the guy takes himself out of the game with foul trouble and approaching the game in ways that isn't to the strengths of his game.

I know someone on this board will see the Riley comment that " Whiteside wasn't prepared for the playoffs" and jump on it to say its on the coaches fault - but fact of the matter is Hassan constantly failed to do his part of the equation.

I am interesting in seeing if this off-season he focuses on strengthening his mental toughness in some way before the season starts - thats his weak point. Sure, he has some things to work on when it comes to his game on the court - but his lack of mental toughness is what eats him up the most - I want to see if he dedicates any time to that individually, aside from the work that the team will put into that aspect as they usually do as a team.

Boston got lucky again. LOL. Good coaching makes solid halftime adjustments and turns the game. Yes, Boston has talent but they have adjusted on the fly and taking advantage of the 76ers who are young.

Yeah but you said it. Boston has talent. Brown and Tatum are already better than like everyone on our roster. Rosier is better than all of our guards except Dragic. Horford is better than the playoff edition of Whiteside we got.

This team would have been a lock for the finals if Kyrie didn't go down.....Didn't even need Hayward this year IMO

Game 3 in Philly going to OT. 76ers not winning the 3rd quarter against the Celtics and a good coach who makes adjustments. Philly may still win in OT and may end up winning the series but telling indeed about the Heats efforts versus the 76ers.
