Game Thread: Miami Heat Month of October Game Thread

Season around the corner. I will post the schedule for the month later after I am done watching the Fins in London -- or you all can post it and we can talk it up

Should've made this thread for both October and November since the first month is not really a full month of play - but we can just stick to October here and ill do it right the rest of season

We open the season on road vs Orlando - Then 5 straight at home to finish the month of against the Pacers, Hawks, Spurs, Celtics and Timberwolves.

As it stands, Goran, Waiters and Hassan all are locked to their spots without question - no word yet on James Johnson who seems to have slimmed down, as a starter but that seems to be everyones expectation. I want to see him earn it in camp not just go off of last season. If he starts, he should be starting PF and Winslow/Richardson battle for starting SF in which case I would be rooting for Winslow to win it - he would be a better more natural fit at the position. I prefer J-Rich as one of the back-up points and/or back-up SG with spot starts at those positions when necessary due to injury.

Not an indictment on either on them together or individually but J-Rich AND Winslow in the starting lineup unless due to injury elsewhere is just not the best idea IMO.

I know its wishful thinking with Spo but I hope he takes a more normal approach with the starting lineup this season and goes with the right, maybe even obvious choices at each position rather than trying to get cute and innovative and overthinking things with the lineup.

I don't do pre-season. Well, for football I do here and there - but there is always a tendency to over/under react to every thing that happens - we all tend to do that already in regular season so I rather just wait till then. There is little mystery to things with the Heat this season so I don't think ill be missing much from not watching pre-season outside of the rookies( who probably won't make the team) and new comers.

Winslow should be the unquestioned SF while I wouldn't be mad with Olynk or JJ at PF - though I would prefer JJ in his successful role of off the bench from last season

It appears that Gordon Hayward has suffered the leagues first devastating injury of the season. I didn't see it nor do I know much of the details on the injury or severity -- but it is still sad to see.
