That's part of why taking 2 weeks to investigate seems odd. It seems pretty cut and dried.

Either he reported it as he is supposed to both contractually and according to Title IX...or he didn't.

If he did, he should be safe.

If not, then he should face disciplinary action.

The only reason I could think of on why it would take 2 weeks would be if he did what he was supposed to, but those he reported to didn't. Then I could see where it might take awhile to investigate what, if anything, they did.

Don't they have to give some explanation why (if it was reported) Smith was still working for Ohio State after 2015 and who made that call? That means they knew at minimum that he had been accused of abusing his pregnant wife in 2009 and now in 2015 another accusation.

That's whats kinda funny. Ohio State is investigating if Urban Meyer followed procedure. You'd think that would take all of a day to pull up the paperwork or e mails. But the part they are probably stuck on is whos going to take the hit for not firing smith in 2015? AD takes one for the team? Literally.

Um, the team investigating this is like former state legislators and other high profile outside people not directly tied to the school.

I'm not suggesting it isn't possible they are going to cover something up, but seriously doubtful. I have full faith this was a legit investigation. The only question is did they have access to enough information to entirely put this to rest?

Once the details come out those involved around it, including McMurphy, will have the opportunity to weigh in and I feel pretty confident most sane people will have a solid picture of how we came to this point and who deserves to be shit on.
