Melo to the Bulls "Good Chance"

This would be great news for the Bulls and us fans. Bulls need that 2nd scorer and we also get a 2nd star. I know its all rumors but at least 3-4 different experts have said Bulls look like the landing spot. Only way he doesn't end up a Bull is if Houston does a sign and trade with the Knicks. Rumor is Houston is going to go all in on LBJ if he opts out.

Yes if Bulls sign Melo we would have to say bye to either Butler or Gibson and I am a Fan of both but this puts the Bulls in a chance to win a championship if we land Melo.

Again these are just rumors so things can change. Overall im happy to here this news. Cant wait to see what happens.

Knicks have no draft picks until 2020 something. I dont think they want players back now. Phil might like Taj or Butler back, but Carmello is going to be walking away from 23.5 million dollars, so will Amare if he opts out. The max first year anyone can offer him is 22.46 on a max deal. Thats a million right there.

The other thing is the bulls will probably move both of their first round draft picks so they dont get stuck with two rookie first round contracts. That could be a potential superstar like the spurs got.

Why are you talking like this is a straight up trade? Carmello chooses where he wants to go, its up to the Knicks to try to get something back of value to sign and trade and pay him that 5th year money. If they dont like what we have, then he just gets four years. Carmello is bailing on the knicks, phil is probably fine with letting him go and not giving him that fifth guaranteed year instead of taking pieces he does not want.

If you are talking about getting love, then yes, we have to woo minnesota with players and picks to get them to trade him here, but there is no trade involved, or matching dollars or any of that shit with an unrestricted free agent.

Yes. I think this opens the door for Butler being part of the Melo trade. We would also have to get rid of Gibson and Dunleavy.

FYI - Bulls could trade Boozer's expiring + 16 + 19 to Orlando for Afflalo and 2 waivable deals. Then use Mirotic to dump Snell/Dunleavy.

I agree. We might actually be the Favs if we land him depending how Rose looks with Team USA.

The real question is does Melo really leave 50 million on the table to leave the Knicks and NY. That is tough and would put a damper on the NY franchise that a star player left NY and more money on the Table.

Yes this is another thing to think about. I don't think Knicks want to pay him that much. So by opt out I don't see Phil Giving Melo the Max deal. I think Phil would want to keep him at about 20 million a year. Bulls would want him for 16-18 million a year. Its going to be a very interested to see what happens. It wouldn't shock me if Bulls go after Love now that the Minn and GS trade is dead.

Not really, I think most know he isn't a super star anymore. He needs to prove himself again.

Rose won't need to play at that grinding level if the Bulls get Melo. A lot of pressure would be taken off of Rose.
