As much as the ball has increased distance, so has advancement in driver design. Give today's pro a set of clubs from the early 80's and see what happens to distance and accuracy.

There are a bunch of guys who have started gaming hickory clubs. My caddy on #2 a couple years ago said he got bored breaking par with modern clubs and decided he wanted to do it with hickory clubs and now carries like a 2 hdcp with hickories.
