That's a little over the top.
Have we never tried to accommodate everyone?
We'll get it sorted out. No worries.

Just want to add that anyone who has specific conflicts needs to speak up like Milk did. This thread has been up 5 days and we're no closer to a draft date.

Getting 12 owners in 5 different time zones to agree takes communication. Might also want to keep in mind that we have a third new ownership in the Keepers this year so we all may need to be flexible to make this work.

I'm just trying to rally the discussion. But I'll back off if need be. Can we draft on kickoff Thursday September 6?

I'm ok with slow draft but I think there should only be a 12 hr clock at max.

We would only have 10 days to complete the draft if we start if on 8/27.

10 days is pushing it extremely close IMO because some people may take much longer to pick than others plus we would be doing this during a holiday weekend.

As much as I'm not a huge fan of drafting before the 3rd preseason game, it would have to be following week 2 of preseason to ensure we have more than enough time

10 days is a lot of time.

Every slow draft I have done on here averages about 2 rounds per day. And that is with a 24 hour clock.

Only 2 games on Sunday the 26th. We could unofficially start then.

Besides, this draft is only 14 rounds. Easy.

Seems to me we haven't really done a good job of narrowing this down. It surely doesn't help when someone waits until a date is almost a done deal to speak up. So far I think these are the days that are out.

    Friday and Saturday ( Sam)
    Sunday and Wednesday ( Tlance)
    Monday ( Ram Tough)

That leaves Tuesday and Thursday, unless someone has a problem with those days. If someone does...

    SPEAK UP RIGHT NOW!

    How about Tuesday the 28th?

It's not easy. The very thing that makes it hard to do a live draft will plague a slow draft. If Sammy has a pick to do and it's a Friday he won't be able to make a pick until the next day or perhaps not until Sunday. If Ram has a pick to make and it's a Monday...well that's another whole day to wait for a single pick. If it's Steelers Pride turn to pick but it's late for him, again we will have to wait until the next day for him to pick and if the person making the next pick is at work we will have to wait until he is off work.
We can find a date for a live draft and the live part is what makes it fun.

But you aren't basing that on the history of this group.

Yes, there will be lags. There will also be many more times where the person OTC picks in 15 minutes or less. 0% chance the draft doesn't finish with a 12 hour clock. Hell, we did a slow baseball draft with like 26 rounds in less than 10 days.

I think the problem with weekdays is the time zone issue. Moving to Tuesday isn't helping that.

IDK, maybe time zone will be a problem, but seems like we have been able to work around that in the past. Let’s see how it goes.

This group doesn’t have a history per say. Four of us are new here and that’s going to change things. I basing my thoughts on what folks have said about their schedule. Basically there are at least three days ( maybe five) that a poster works all day long, that’s going to slow the draft to a crawl if we do a slow draft. We have always done a live draft in the past and it has been a blast. Can’t say I enjoy slow drafts for the most part.

So Tuesday August 28th. Everyone good for that date? I’m good for that day. I think this is the date that will work.
