I don't care what he does as long as he doesn't take out a starting pitcher ridiculously early ever again. Nothing is as fucking infuriating as that.

And if he ever does we should march down there and hang him right on the mound. Then we'll sing hallelujah during the seventh inning stretch.

Wow I had no idea he became a manager. He was a beast as a player. My cousin even named his kid Gabe after him (that's the rumor).

I actually said that he couldn't lift Velazquez when he did, not even realizing that Milner hadn't taken off his jacket yet. I was a little surprised when Arano was warming in the inning before.

Guy has to quit managing like every game is Game 7.

Every game is an experiment for Kapler. He is learning through trial and error.

O.K. I get that many Phillies fans are willing to give the guy a second chance but why are we bringing in a complete novice manager during a rebuild? This dimwit is so incompetent, even with his alleged "experience", he didn't even use baseball basics and common sense during that Atlanta game.

I mean what rationale is he using to pull a starting pitcher early who has a win going on and then replace him with a series of pitchers with ERA's so bad as to almost guarantee the opposition a comeback win?

You could take each one of his boneheaded moves in that game and ask the same question and you'd come up with no logical reasons to even give this guy a job!

Are you gonna let him ruin Nola in the process? That shit is so fucked up its beyond reasonable comprehension. Kid needs to grow and this idiot is actively stunting his growth. What the fuck? Can you imagine yanking a young hamels off the mound every time a guy came up for the 3rd time? It's a disgrace! Not just the action but the mindset that enables such fucked up actions.

The Phillies never win a world series if that had happened

Gabe can lift Velazquez with one hand.

He was at least hovering around 100 pitches.
I don't give a fuck.

He'll never go 100 pitches in August if he doesn't go 100 pitches now. These fucked up assholes are ruining the whole sport.

Summer? What a good observation on your part. The pampering needs to stop soon!

Spot on everyone. How is a pitcher going to know what a complete game is if he never is permitted to throw one?

Kapler has a plan. Remove the starter in the 6th inning and put him at 1st base until the 9th inning. Bring him back to the mound and let him finish the game. That way he gets a win and a save!

Too funny northeast. One of the few explanations I have seen posited that actually explains this dimwit's managerial thinking and behavior!

They had a piece on CSN yesterday about Kapler's dedication to analytics, in particular the use of index cards carried by players with researched positioning information on each offensive player. As they said, it's not always perfect, but you can't beat playing the percentages.

Which makes me wonder if they could work on bunting to beat the shift. I recall Howard getting to first easily after accidentally dribbling a ball down the third base line with no one within 60 feet of the base.

I still believe it was dumb to take Nola out in that first game especially since we heard nothing about Nola issues at that time. I also don't like Franco being in and out of the lineup after going 5 for 8, two homers, etc., albeit vs crappy MIA pitching. However, the Phils haven't lost during Franco's two-day sit down since Phils seem to be reasonably deep at each position. So, reality dictates we give Kapler a chance.
