Braves signed INF/OF Jose Bautista to a minor league contract.
According to the Braves' official Twitter account, Bautista will report to the club's extended spring training complex in Lake Buena Vista, Florida and work on playing third base. The veteran slugger did make a handful appearances at the hot corner in Toronto last season, but that was out of desperation and he'll likely be a very poor defender there at age 37. Joey Bats figures to be more of a pinch-hitter and corner-infield/corner-outfield utilityman when he makes it to Atlanta.
