Jean Machi's forkball will be important going forward

Machi the 32 yr old from El Tigre , Venezuelan pitcher from the Giants has had that forkball of his dancing all year. He has been one of the unsung hero's in the Giants bullpen who is on a 5-0 run this year. His ERA is .40 over 22.2 IP. When the Giants needed a big out or big inning Machi has been there with ace after ace up his sleeve.

Last year he was 3-1 with a 2.38 ERA over 53 IP. Sabean just keeps on rolling finding these guys in the bullpen and now Machi's job will ramp up where he might be the guy taking over Casilla's slot as a key set up man. Not too bad for a guy only making 505 K a year.Machi's forkball has perplexed hitters and the Giants are lucky they have him to fill that most important set up role.

Looking forward to seeing more of Machi and his dancing forkball. One more thing is Machi can move as he showed in his bunt that won a game in the 13th inning for the Giants in Pittsburgh. Bochy might tell him to tone that down a little now that the Giants have lost a few pitchers running down to first base but man, it was fun to watch .Machi has found a home here in San Francisco.
