was bummed we missed out on Schultz (what was he thinking?)
but this is a huge win.

Garrison left $ on table - was offered "Wideman money" elsewhere - but wanted to play for hometown VAN, which held firm on internal $ scale.
Even if you don't expect 16 goals every season, this guy has been a terrific "defense" defenseman for two years now, against the toughest competition FLA has faced.
He drives play, prevents shots, can play both sides effectively (played left side in a shut-down role with Weaver, and played right side in offensive role with Campbell). Is a wicked powerplay weapon.
