He should really be concentrating on the sequel nobody asked for.

I like James and several of his movies. He says there are other stories to tell. Do we really need 5 Avatar movies? Hypocrite!

Avatar 2, the sequel is set for December 2020, with Avatar 3 set for December 2021, and then part four due in December 2024, and the fifth (and final?) entry due in Decemeber 2025

I was going to say the same thing @SDGuy73

He really sounds pissed off that they are doing so well and he;s still trying to Avatar... He should know this is what Hollywood is all about... If he really truly was so "passionate" about changing it he would actually come up with an original idea himself!

Avatar wasn't even a very good movie. The visuals were stunning and it was the first movie to do a great job with 3D. The story was pretty bland though. I think scheduling all these sequels will turn out to be a misfire. Could be wrong.

He's a George Lucas love child with a little bit of Rocky thrown in.

So he did two Terminators, did a sequel for Alien, has Avatars lined up (Avatar itself was just Dances With Wolves in space). Come on James, I enjoy your work but don't complain.

Been so long since the first that I doubt Avatar 2 will be as well received as they plan it to be. Seems like a big f*ck up to wait this long.

Who knows when or if all those Avatars actually come.

I’ve hear of Avatar release dates as early as 2016.

Still no sequel

^^^ Beat me to it. I watched it once.... and that was more than enough.
I don’t think I’ve sat through the entire thing once. I don’t get how this is the highest grossing film of all time. Visually amazing? Sure so what. Not like CGI hasn’t been around for 20 years though.

Cameron better watch out or Disney will just re-purpose the avatar land at Animal Kingdom.

If there are "Other stories to tell". Tell them, and stop trying to make Blue Pocahontas happen.

Cameron is also way too stuck on trying to keep 3D a thing.

Avatar was a nice visual representation of Disney's Pocahontas or Costner's Dances with Wolves
