I'm curious to see what people expect from this team. I know that I'm more optimistic about them than most people.

I think they'll be in the 30-35 win range this season.

Well, they're not relying on two guys coming off of torn ACLs to man the point, which led to Isaiah Canaan starting at a position he had no skills to play, so that should be a step in the right direction. I'd rather wait to see how some things shake out leading up to the season, particularly with Embiid.

Can't even venture to make a guess?

In the end, the win total doesn't matter to me. I'll be happy as long as we see progress and see the beginning of something beautiful.

I did vote 26-30.

I could see that. I'm happy to see expectations fairly high. Everyone who has voted, as of the time of this post, sees a 16 to 25 win improvement this season.

26-30 was my vote.
I could see anywhere between 20-40, though.
They will need time, but there is just so much potential.

I just remember that stretch last year where they had the lead late in games only to see it fade away.
And the stats show that they were the worst net team in the 4th quarter last season.
That will change....

And Brand is back for no apparent reason. He shouldn't see any floor time. If he's just there for a vet preference, why not just give him a coaching position. I know when they brought him on last year he said he didn't want to do that, but what exactly is the point this year?

He probably gets paid more as a player than as a coach. Or maybe he's dumping a shit ton of his salary into a 401(k) that the NBA has to match (up to 140%)? Who knows. I don't mind having him around so long as he only sees the court in very limited circumstances.

I was worried the Sixers were going to be in another tank mode season but then I saw that they resigned Brand and my worries faded away

Championship here we come!

Kind of amazing. The 76ers will likely hit 30 wins (8 games left and Brooklyn and New York remaining on the schedule, plus some teams not living up to expectations in Chicago and Atlanta.)

Everyone seemed to be in agreement that they'd fall in the 26-35 win range. But who would have thought that they'd hit 30 wins with Embiid missing 50 games, Simmons missing the entire season, Noel being traded midway through the season, and Okafor missing 25+ games.

With a healthy Embiid and Simmons, plus whatever players they're able to add to the draft, this team should be looking at the playoffs in 2017-2018.
