How early in the game will MM abandon the run?

I'd hope he doesn't, but history has shown that when GB gets behind in the score, MM almost always abandons the run.

Lets see if MM can keep with the run for at least the first half of the game. After that, all bets are off.

Well SF front 7 is vicious and their only real potential weakness on D is the secondary so I wouldn't count on the run being a big part of this game. The only way I see us being able to run the ball with any success is to pass well early in the game. Either way I doubt running the ball is what's going to decide this game for GB.

Agreed, for this particular game, it will probably be the pass setting up the run....based on the 9ers strengths and weaknesses.....

In McCarthy's defense, he was giving Benson a fair number of carries before he got hurt last year. I'm sure he was bringing him along slowly as well, as wasn't in camp from the start and probably wasn't in full playing shape. After that, nobody on the Packers roster has been able to show that they deserve the rock 20-25 times a game. I can't begin to count last year when, late in games, McCarthy would call run on first and second downs and they'd pick up between zero and three yards, and have to pass on third down. Fans were screaming at him to call more passes.

This is a brand new season and Lacy has more potential than any other back we've had on this roster for quite some time. If he shows he's capable of moving the chains on the ground, I guarantee you he will get his carries.

I think so too. It's hard to "stick" with the run when you have be blowing the league away in 2 yd or less runs. The exception was Benson, he was gaining decent yds, but like the above said, he was being worked in because of age, injury concern, etc. It's a long season and we didn't have much behind him.

I can't blame this on Lacy.......our O line can't run block....they need to seriously work on that. This game will depend on our defense......
