With the signing of Sandoval and Ramirez, the Red Sox will certainly be active in th trade market, most likely looking for pitching, starting pitching to be sure.

Most likely candidates to be traded:
1. Yoenis Cespades
2. Xander Bogaerts
3. Jackie Bradley Jr.
4. Mike Napoli
5. Allen Craig
6. Garin Chechinni
7. Daniel Nava
8. Wil Middlebrooks
9. Brock Holt

The most valuable pieces are Cespades, Holt, Bogaerts, Nava and Middlebrooks with Chechinni bot far behind.

Last I heard the Hanley deal was 4 years $88 mil with a 5th year vesting at $22 mil and Sandoval 5 years $100 mil

They won't trade Bogaerts unless they get a huge return.

He won't be traded.

Part of the problem with being a Red Sox fan is that the Boston media convinces you that certain players are just too good to let go. Bogearts has done nothing since he's arrived in Boston. He's barely an adequate shortstop. When he arrived he was expected to be the next Freddie Lynn. He hasn't hit .300, hasn't hit 20 HR and hasn't had 100 RBI. He's been a .935 SS.

I'd trade him in a heartbeat for Cole Hamels along with JBJ and a couple of others.

No player is worth falling in love with.........they'll just break your heart.

Mariners and Padres have contacted the Red Sox and both want Cespedes. Supposedly the Padres will give up Ian Kennedy and the Mariners supposedly are dangling Ish Iwakuma (13-9 3.04) Kennedy is nearly the same salary as Cespedes and is also a free agent in 2016. From here, Iwakuma is a much better deal and he would be the #2 starter in Boston.

Would love this deal!

The bidding has started on John Lester. The Cubs reportedly have offered 6 years and $138,000,000.
The Red Sox have officially offered 6 years and $130,000,000. The San Francisco Giants are reportedly ready to bid higher than the Cubs and the Yankees are supposedly lurking with a blockbuster 7 years, $175,000,000, but no one can confirm whether or not this is a fairy tale.

The Cubs offer looks like a huge amount more than the Red Sox but the reality of it is that it's $1.3M a year more to play for a team that's going pretty much nowhere.

Lester said he'd take a discount to go back to Boston and still has his family there and his wife supposedly loves Boston and really does not want to leave.
