What's CDC stand for? Is it the college draft cap? If yes, the cap hit for 2018 for all of the Skins draft picks combined is only $7,095,150.

CDC= Check Down Charlie aka Alex Smith

The $36M Skinsdad is referring to is the dead money should the Skins find themselves in need of moving away from him at the end of the 2018 season. Basically, if Smith should not work for any reason, he is still our QB until at least 2020.

Oh well, so much for me saving $29 million for the team.

Getting to that time to offer 7m with incentives to reach 10m. Bonus 1m for pro bowl. Then draft Vea.

Hmm - just because a few folks here are convinced that Smith will do poorly next season some people take it as fact. Slow down - let's see what actually occurs on the field. I don't care if he throws for 5000 yds or 1500 yds - just want to see if the team does alright. Again - IMO this doesn't come down to a Kirk vs. Alex comparison - that train left the station. For better or worse Smith is their QB.

I realize that some of you actually want him to fail but let's just see if he does well or poorly this season - if the latter then by all means criticize as much as you like.

When has anyone ever said they want Smith to fail.

Not expecting him to be better than the guy they ran out of town is a far cry from wanting him to fail. Or are you inferring from our lack of faith in Smith, that we some how want him to fail?? Because if that's the case, I was told repeatedly that not having faith in the player is NOT actively hoping he fails. Unless we are some how changing the dynamic now. :suds:

Just curious as to why you weren't this forgiving of others who didn't share your love for Kirk? You literally called it hatred AND wanting him to fail at the time.

Actually the rolls have just reversed. So now I get to be the one sitting around on sunday fingers poised to say.. .see i told you he was garbage. But I dont dislike him. :suds:

And as i have stated quite a few times, the dislike for Kirk was by and large a byproduct of the love for the other guy.

Maybe for the few who couldn't separate themselves of the promise of that other guy, but I'm convinced that such separation happened fairly quickly for them as well. let's keep in mind that this all happened in 2015, people do move on, but for those who can't or choose not to, you'd have to wonder what motivation/disorientation compels them to keep it ongoing all these years later.

IM not. I think the dislike started based on the love of the other guy. And once they got over the other guy, people still could not bring themselves to like and or support Cousins. Im mean come on, there are people who have NEVER tried avocado simply because its green and they had a thing against green foods when they were a kid. People made their decision on Kirk early on, and short of him doing the miracle thing, some will always have a negative bent towards him.

Just like I fully admit I was NOT a fan of Smith before the trade even happened. And thus far nothing has changed my opinion of him. So yes I expect this move to fail ultimately.

So what? you seem to be stating that because they were off balance, you are going to be off balanced as well. I agree, people dislike things and people for every imaginable reason. Rational or not, we move on, after all, when was the last time anyone argued or beat the proverbial drum for this long, over an avocado?

This team and everything that surrounds non participants is merely entertainment, no different than other programming that we watch, enjoy, and then forget about, as we go through our daily lives.

So let me ask... How exactly am I off balance??

1. I was NEVER a fan of Smith.
2. Him coming to the Redskins has not changed that fact.
3. Because I always thought Smith was a game manager at best, I expect the move to bring him here will fail.

4. Yes i think we got rid of a better QB to bring him in.

All these were true BEFORE we brought him in, so if anything, Im sticking to what I thought of Smith and the idea of bringing him in from before Bruce made the bone headed trade.

So remind me again how Im unbalanced??

"seem to be" is NOT a statement in fact, even though you're still debating as if it is indeed fact. The names aren't truly relevant here, what the conversation is all about right now is your statement that "now it's your turn to be..."
It's all fun and games, that is, until three years later...it isn't. That takes a truly special kind of unyielding grip to hold on to and carry something like this for that long. The Kirk Cousins situation has affected too many at a very personal level, so I'll state this one more time, it's entertainment!

my position of both guys has been the same throughout . i have given what my standard is and it wont move to suit my purposes as is the trend here

i was promised better and that is what i expect BETTER not as good as or statistically better , i expect the standards KC was held to to be applied to CDC . so i expect every pass to be on target , i expect him to carry the team to victory every sunday . i expect him to overcome a crap defense , i expect an nfc championship game appearance year one because i expect KC would have won a playoff game with this team

i am not going to be talked out of my standards . i WANT the guy to meet my standards . i dont wish the skins to fail , never have , but all the BS i listened too when KC was here is going to be applied to cdc starting with OTAS today

Now this may be the start of dad actually opening up to the idea of one said new QB. We all expect Smith to be better, on target, carrying the team from the QB position on Sunday's regardless of our crap defense. We ALL also expected Cousins to deliver and you know that story so, now it's Alex Smith and he gets NO "do overs" dad. The same bar is set for Smith just like it was for Cousins. Now lets see if the new QB can deliver because the old one could not.

It is actually funny to watch the guys who took the other role before their favorite QB now take the roll that those of who believed we had a good QB. Now that he is gone those who found fault, thought there was a better QB, and basically found fault in just about everything he did now what the Cousin's fans to sit around the fire and sing camp fire songs. I am going to sing the song and hope the guy was just a one year wonder last year. it's almost like watching an old Jerry Skinner show .... please pass the popcorn.
