I love me some Bocephus, but it has always been crazy to me just how drastically his musical direction, image and sound changed after his near death experience.

Here is a 16 year old Bocephus from 1966

I'm pretty sure he knew what the money maker was before. He was making it doing his daddy's stuff so why change. After the accident he probably thought what the hell you only live once and why not do it the way you want.
