Any Venture Bros fans here? They had a 1 hr special on last night that I totally missed. The good news is you can watch it on adultswim.com, which I did. And its totally awesome. So many characters came back. But like all Venture Bros, there's still many questions left. It sets up what should be a great season 6...if it ever gets here.

I didn't either. They've always had ridiculously long gaps between seasons so you never know when they'll pop back up. Only reason I saw it was I stumbled across it the next day on a site linking to a review of it. My advice for any fans is to read the plot points from past seasons or even take some time an rewatch past seasons to fully appreciate that special. Due to the large layoffs between seasons, its easy to forget stuff if you're like me. That special ties up a lot of storylines from the entire series.

Nice. It's too bad Netflix never carried their later seasons. They only had 2 out of the 5 seasons IIRC. I'll have to check out the new special sometime soon.

Been binge watching Venture Bros on Hulu and I've made it to Season 5. One of the smartest shows out there in terms of keeping an evolving universe and placing the best older pop culture references. Lots of funny running jokes, too.

1 oddity of the show is the number of gay characters (4 I think), having a character who wishes he was a woman and goes through a sex change, having 1 of the 2 main female 'sexy' characters have a male voice and having 2 characters like little boys, lots of bondage themes and the villains mentioned as swingers in season 4 even though Dr Girlfirend's affection is a major plot in the first 2 seasons. I get that comics were drawn a bit curiously back in the day but they are taking it very far.

Pretty much every show has references to an earlier show or earlier season. Its quite impressive but I can see how its a binge watching show. I wish more cartoon comedies would have characters getting older and having previous experiences. Both Venture Brother characters would be totally insufferable if they weren't growing up and changing. As such, its the perfect vehicle in a show that constantly pokes fun of older children cartoons.

Everytime the show pulls me in, though, another male character grows a set of boobs. Oh well. Thats Venture Brothers. FWIW Shore Leave is actually damn funny.

This season has been great so far. Really like how they've tied some of the lore together. It also helps that its still hilarious.
