Ideally I would like the Giants to host the Braves or Reds in the first round. But either way they're going to have to through Philly to get to the WS and I don't know if the Giants have a better shot against them in a 5 or 7 game series. Not sure it makes much difference really.

Although if the pitching keeps up like it's been in September I'll take the Giants' chances against anyone.

In my mind, there's no question that I'd rather face the Phils in a 7 game series. The Phillies top 3 pitchers are superb, so a longer series is better in the hope that they may have to use a fourth starter. Also, as the road team in a 7-game series, if you win one of the first two games, you are set up nicely going back home for three straight. Maybe the Phillies bats will fall asleep in AT&T Park.
