It was a pretty good deal; $380 new with a 15rd clip and also a 25rd. I got the 2nd Generation S&W .40 caliber and the nice feller threw in one of those front hand grips that goes on the new rails. (went on GunBroker.com)

Anybody else get one of these yet? It'll be here this weekend to my cop and weapons trainer buddy who has an FFL. It'll fit nicely into one of my old tennis racquet cases.

I've always thought about picking one of those up. I don't ever see them around here though.

Funny you say that. The friend with an FFL who it shipped to is a Captain with the Sheriff's dept. He took it to work to record the serial numbers and showed it to his fellow ociffers. He emailed to say I started a shitstorm because all the cops want a Glock compatible carbine like that for work. He had to order 8 of them that same day.

I thought they were pretty common. But if the cops were unfamiliar then I guess not.

Seems like a fun gun but I don't quite get the practicality of a pistol caliber carbine. Though, it is a pretty great price under $400.

My dad had an old M1 WWII issued carbine and we would take it out to the Mojave Desert and fire off the banana clips. A boat load of fun, but those banana clips had a tendency to jam frequently.

They're fun at the range and fairly cheap to shoot, aside from a .22 anyway (which is still hard to find around here). I imagine it'd pack a punch at close range too. I've got a Hi-Point carbine (9mm) and can nail a steel target at 100 yds no problem. Much further than that and you have to start lobbing them in there tho lol.

Magazine and ammo compatibility as well as an increase in effective range and effectiveness. I think the main draw is the magazine and ammo commonality though, especially with something like this and a Glock user.

Yeah, it's a self defense gun and you don't need range of more that 50 yards for that. It's a good truck gun...so compact and handy with 25rd clip also fitting a Glock. However, I'll probably put my pistol back in the car and keep this in the house.

The main reason I got it is I'm trying to convince wifey to become weapon competent. We know it's just a pistol caliber carbine. However, it looks scary and high tech to her although very simple. So, after she shoots this she won't be intimidated by AR looking pieces. At least that's the plan...will advise.
