    Usual suspects:
    Keith Moon- The Who
    John Bonham- Led Zepplin
    Danny Carey- Tool

    A couple of others
    Brann Dailor- Mastadon
Barret Martin- Screaming Trees, Mad Season

    Watch the whole thing!

Keith Moon is my favorite. He played the drums as if they were a lead instrument which a lot of drum aficionados frown upon. I thought he was great. In fact Entwistle did the same thing with the bass and purely from an instrumental standpoint they're my favorite rock band.

Lots of good choices already in this thread.

I would add Jim Gordon, and his work on Derek and the Dominoes, In Concert (audio only):

Particularly the opening track, Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad?, and his MONSTER solo in Let It Rain.

@Ojb81 , give me the facepalm, ever seen Genesis live when Phil was just a drummer?

Highly doubt it or you would know what I'm talking about.

and if you're disagreeing with Ginger Baker, that would only mean you have no taste.

The best drummer of all time would have to be Neil Peart or John Bonham

But the question was who is your favorite. That would be Keith Moon.
