Actually, I'm going to agree with Across the Field here. I think the defense takes a step back for the first time in awhile. There are some good pieces but if they don't have Earl Thomas then I think they might have some issues.

Seattle's offense should be good, though
I think 6-10 or 7-9 is very possible this year, and you're right, the offense will be their strength. If Wilson goes down, they are in deep, deep trouble.

They do. So who then has an injury-proof roster?
No one but it's about mitigating the risk. All teams know they'll be effected one way or another. Those that do the best to mitigate it stay competitive.

Earl Thomas will be playing for us this season. Next season however is a different story.

Most teams are in trouble without their starting QB. Eyeball test does put them around 7-9 for me but Wilson could definitely elevate them to something like 10-6.

This will solve Seattle's problems. Just look what he did in Indy.

John Schneider is the GM of this team. Grigson will probably serve under JS in a different role.

Of course, but they're one of the few teams that doesn't have a pro-level backup on the roster.

Look back at teams who have won all 4 preseason games. How did they fare in the regular season. I rest my case.

You actually took that comment seriously?:laugh3:

Pro-level backup is a bit of a weird term.

Chiefs backup is Chad Henne. Austin Davis has almost identical INT%, TD% and YPA.

A couple of teams in history have won a Super Bowl with their backup but 99.5+% of the time it means your season is over.

I think over the course of a 16 game season on Seattle he'd go something like 5-11. Its quite bad but not 0-16 or 1-15.

I think you're giving him too much credit. If he was a decent back up why was he outta league in 2016?

I might be. Alex McGough might replace Austin Davis for all I know

But the Chiefs have an offense with an established RB and a fantastic OL, along with a powerful defense. Seattle has none of these things, so it's far more important that Wilson stays healthy.

No. Just keeping the discussion going.

Oh good deal. I'm still waiting for my 2017 Browns preseason champs license plate frame. Should be here any day, hopefully.:hope:

It wouldn't surprise me if McGough beats him out. And I've never heard of the guy.

Powerful D is a bit antiquated. They just finished 30th in DVOA and 32nd if weighted. They'll be better this year I'd imagine with the additions and the draft, but I'd be ecstatic if they're average with the O they have. They certainly have some enticing pieces, but I would pump the brakes for a while. This is a team who projects to have their outside CB's be Steven Nelson and David Amerson right now.
