All that said, the bottom of the Big10 is down right putrid and should have been taken into account. But ESPN has become hot takes for click bait.

True to a point. Illinois, Rutgers and Minnesota sucked it big time last year. Maryland was a slightly below average team until the injury gods decided to concentrate on one team, Indiana is a schizo team. Could play decent for a half the disappear.

However, I still would say the SEC was more successful, last year. I'm taking the B1G this year.

Ohio St - down to Alabama
Wisconsin - down to Georgia
Penn St - down to Auburn
Northwestern - down to LSU, got lucky to beat Kentucky in bowl game.
Michigan St - good matchup with Miss St I think.
Michigan - actually lost to South Carolina in the bowl game.

Who the fuck in the Big10 is better top down? Not a single one, except maybe Michigan St vs Miss St.
LOL im going to need to see those games played on the field. Sorry if I don't take your word for it

1. Actually make the playoffs if you want to be considered with the big boys.
2. Score a TD.

Are we supposed to assume that Auburn wants to be there? They seemed to have been a bunch of pouty bitches last year after being left out of the playoffs.

I would put Michigan above MSU if they get solid play out of the OLine.

The Big10 has gotten much better than it was just a few years ago, but I think you have to have teams at the top to even be in consideration for best conference.

Problem is that’s like saying that the SEC East was better than the West because you have to have the top team to be in consideration for the best.

The SEC has a great one two punch and then it’s complete sketchiness. It is a huge drop off after Bama and Georgia. Most publications have the Big10 with 5 teams in the top 15-20.

Top to bottom, no the Big10 is not the best.

Well if the national championship game hadn't changed things, then I think the argument could have been made that the SEC East was best. Of course as you go down the list and start to line up #2 vs #2 things are going to change quickly.

It would be impossible to make a statement that the SEC West was the "best" over the SEC East because they lose right off the bat at the top. If you go down the list and you see #2 and on down is better stacked off, then you can add the "better overall" qualifier, but not "best". And it's somewhat rare that you see true better "top to bottom". You have to include the best to be the best.

I mean who gives a fuck if #11 is better than #11 of another conference if the top10 are better, or the top3 or even the top1? That's where it matters most and should be weighted towards that. Don't really care if the Big10 is weaker at the bottom for example, who cares that a 4-8 team is better than a 3-9 team etc. Shouldn't carry much weight. At the top - lots and lots of weight.

As for next year, going to be interesting to see how things shake out with all the SEC coaching changes. I was somewhat shocked to see I was including South Carolina in the top6 last year.

If they score a point in the playoffs again I might take them serious again.

Put up your top 5 teams, I'll put up our top 5. I'll take my chances.

You missed the point. 5 teams is half of the Big 12 it isn't half of the Big.
