Another SEC Media Days has come and gone, and the annual tradition of the media’s predicted order of finish and preseason All-SEC team has been revealed. The season is certainly near.

There weren’t many surprises on the preseason All-SEC teams as voted on by the media.

Alabama dominated the first team and led all SEC schools with seven first-team players. Interestingly, Missouri and Georgia tied for the second-most players on the first team with three each. Four other schools totaled two players each, while South Carolina’s Deebo Samuel made the first team at three different positions.

We thought it’d be interesting to see a breakdown on the star ranking, and overall, it was pretty balanced:

  • 8 5-stars
  • 8 4-stars
  • 7 3-stars
  • 1 2-star
Here’s how every player on the preseason All-SEC team was rated as a recruit, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings:

I think you’re a doucher. But, Drew Lock is the man! Best QB in college this year. Okwuebunam is pretty damn good too.

So
It looks like at least two of people going to New York will be:

Will Grier
Drew Lock

Sounds reasonable.

Now that Heupel isn't there, it will be interesting to see how he develops

If Heupel hadnt left MU, Lock would have

Lock told The Kansas City Star’s Alex Schiffer that Dooley is challenging him in ways that Heupel’s sometimes simplistic offense could not.

“It’s more complicated of an offense, but I do think it’s easier,” Lock told Schiffer. “It was a little more guessing games last year on what I thought receivers were going to run. And this year I have it set in stone what they’re doing every single play. It makes me a lot more comfortable back there. I know exactly what’s going on.”

Lock told The Star that he is experiencing play calls and formations that he’s never seen before, and that learning the Dooley play book has presented quite a challenge.

“This is exactly what I want to experience,” Lock told The Kansas City Star. “I want to be able to speak ball. I want to be able to talk NFL stuff with NFL people and I wasn’t going to be able to do that.”

Well
We saw in immediate improvement when he left.

He was a great QB coach, but seemed to struggle in the OC role. Not sure what that was all about.

Hope does well where he is now.

Lock maybe.

He can put up all the stats he wants, but unless they win games, he won't get invited.

It'll be nice to see fewer 3 and outs in less than 45 seconds.

The defense should enjoy it too
