De'Anthony Thomas, despite having just 269 yards of offense in 12 games played, won Chiefs ROY; probably on the back of the return game.
Rushing:
14 attempts 113 yards 8.1 YPC 1 TD; Long of 26
Receiving:
31 Targets 23 Receptions (74.2%) 156 yards 6.8 YPC 0 TD; long of 30
Punt Returns:
34 attempts 405 yards 11.9 YPC (3rd in the NFL) 1 TD; Long of 81
Kickoffs:
14 attempts 428 yards 30.6 YPR (would be tied for Jacoby Jones at 2nd had he qualified in this category) 0 TD; Long of 78
Total: 1,102 yards
I'll take it, but he definitely needs to develop as a slot receiver to maximize his value. He has to be more than just a screen or sweep gadget on a more consistent basis on offense. Can certainly gush when it comes to his return ability, however. Looking forward to seeing what DAT does in year two. Way ahead of where McCluster was at this point, and he looks like his ceiling is a lot higher when it comes to being the slot guy.
