I know LeBron is a free agent and all after this year, but I really don't think the Leafs can fit him in under the cap unless the Raptors are willing to fit the luxury tax bill. Not sure if he's slot in a right D or left D either.

Now all the Leafs need to do is bring back Darcy Tucker and we have a George Carlin bit.

I see a Toronto head coach just got fired...

He's the odds-on favourite to win NBA coach of the year. Has that ever happened before that a coach gets fired before picking up the award?

from 31 thoughts... refreshing that they aren't pushing it under the rug that there was a real issue

Whether a family vacation or not, the reaction to Toronto coach Mike Babcock’s visit
with Auton Matthews last weekend in Arizona was nearly unanimous: “That was fast.” Normally, coach and player would take a breather, especially since there was an exit interview.

At Dubas’s introductory media conference, Brendan Shanahan was asked if he was worried about it. “No,” he replied with a bit of a laugh. “It’s all part of coaching.” Two calls after the meeting was reported stood out. One former Red Wing said there was “no way” Babcock would have done that years ago, giving him credit for recognizing it was something he needed to do. And, a GM added that he was worried about a potential problem on his own team two years ago, but decided to let coach and player settle for a couple months before arranging a meeting. “By then, it was too late,” he said. “It festered with the player and we couldn’t fix it. If there’s any chance of something being wrong, you have to address it right away.”

"So, have you ever been to a London Knights game?"

Been to dozens, it really sucks having a stacked team every year for a decade and a full house every night. London would probably out-revenue a few NHL teams. Put a team in Hamilton and watch what happens because the 12k that goes to the Knights game would be happy to drive there. A three hour return drive is nothing for Canucks.

So I guess he's doing more of the scouting/drafting stuff, like Hunter was?
