Chip Kelly possibly heading to NE Coaching staff

With Brian Doball (NE's TE Coach) heading to become OC of Alabama, there is talk about Chip Kelly possibly going to the NE Coaching staff, and that their coaching staff likes Chip Kelly, according to ESPN article.


Chip Kelly visited the Patriots during the postseason after he interviewed for the Jacksonville Jaguars' offensive coordinator job and didn't get it. Because he has a home in New Hampshire, it was an easy visit, though there was nothing specific in terms of helping the team out. But the welcome reflected the respect that coach Bill Belichick and others on staff have for Kelly. He is well-liked by the Patriots' staff.

Thus, Kelly could be a nice fit if Belichick doesn't see any of his young assistants ready to take on more responsibility.

Too much ego to go back to college. Weird. Saban has as big an ego as Belichick, but he went back (thankfully). I expect him to land an OC job somewhere.
