quick is good on special teams so dont discount it . however you cant let a high ceiling guy like quinn , who could take over for crowder , walk if you cant resign crowder , which could happen since sherff and smith could get expensive

For all of you guys railing against Quick, @dad properly pointed out his value on STs. The way I see it they are going to attempt to keep them all by exposing Quinn to the waiver wire and hoping to re-sign him to the PS.

I know.

Although he does have some potential, under what circumstance does he earn a spot on the 53? You've noted that Quick gives us something immediate with his STs play, it would not be wise to lose that in favor of a player best suited for the PS. They will try to re-sign him to the PS if he clears waivers, or as you've stated will lose him trying.

Did you seen Quinn return punts? He is going to have to really suck to not make the team. He will be Crowders back up. Jay loves the kid.

You may be correct on this, but IMO, Quinn is destined for the PS. There's a huge risk in attempting to do it, but I honestly believe they are going to try.

There's also one other factor to consider, veteran wide receivers, which became an issue last season due to injury.

BTW: He won't have to "really suck" in order to not make the team, just suck less than one of the other guys. I don't think that he's there yet, however, there's still time for him to impress enough to eke out a spot on the 53.

Veteran WRs are overrated. Veteran has nothing to do with talent nor production. We had a veteran on the team last season Andy hardly gave him a snap...his name was Brian Quick.

Hopefully they retain some of the younger guys, but let's not get too carried away with some of the play during preseason games. The plays are often against backups & guys who won't be in the NFL in a few weeks. The coaches (whether they make good or bad decisions) see & know a lot more about these players than any of us. The final decisions are made on a lot more than what transpires in a preseason game. Time will tell.
