The Winnipeg Jets have received several calls inquiring about the availability of a number of their players and a deal could be on the horizon.
Young star Evander Kane has attracted a significant amount of interest, but the Jets have multiple players other teams have called about.
Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff has also been busy fielding calls about such players as Andrew Ladd, Blake Wheeler, Zach Bogosian, Devin Setoguchi and Dustin Byfuglien, though reports suggests one of them could definitely be on the outs.
Both the Winnipeg Sun and the Winnipeg Free Press have suggested that Byfuglien's tenure with the Jets is running out, hinting that a trade might be best for the organization.
Byfuglien, 28, leads the Jets in assists (23) and sits second in points (32) so far this season, but his minus-14 rating is also the worst on the team by twice as much.
It appears Byfuglien's lackluster defensive play has been a concern, which could prompt Cheveldayoff to explore the market further. It's believed the Boston Bruins are one of the teams that have shown interest in Byfuglien in the past, but it's unclear if the two clubs have discussed a deal this season.
