Nemo blanketed the greater Boston area with more than two feet of snow, leaving more than 650,000 homes and businesses without power. By midday Saturday, the preliminary snowfall totals of 24.9 inches made Nemo the fifth largest on the city's all-time list. The storm also took out the Boston College Alumni Stadium practice bubble.

This is the second time in four years that the bubble has collapsed. Given that it takes four days and over 100 staff members to inflate the practice bubble, this will likely displace all 31 varsity sports, including the Eagles football program, for some time. While I don't want to make light of the deadly snowstorm, it may be time to revisit whether the football program and the rest of the Eagles 31 varsity sports and clubs need a non-inflatable, permanent structure to conduct winter practices. The challenge will be finding space on campus to build such a facility.

Hopefully no one was hurt in the most recent collapse of the Alumni Stadium bubble. Stay safe, Eagles.
