Why is Giants top 3 surprising? Shepard is a good receiver.

Just a difference of opinion by a little. I would say he is average, on the high side of average though. I don't think he played the whole season last year though.......

Can you call a receiver that has yet to top 750 yards a "good" receiver? I mean what is our standard at this point for what falls into that category?

Just looking at last year that would be 40 players that fall into being a good receiver. To me when we are looking at what is considered "good" I would only put maybe the top-20 players at the position in that category.

I think the Chiefs certainly need it to be a top 5 WR corps.

When defenses 'figured out' the Chiefs last year it was because teams were stacking the box and having their CB hit the edge to prevent outside runs.

If you are a person that doesn't go by what they see with their eyes, but rather what the newspaper tells them the stats were the next morning, I guess not. But, that's not me. Would you feel better if I said he missed 5 games and if you extrapolate his 11 game stats over 16 it comes to over a thousand yards?

The kid is 24 YO, played his rookie year and a partial year. He was behind 2 other veterans both years who took PT from him even though he was much better than both of them (at that point). I'm not hitching my wagon to him and saying he is the next great player, but he is a good receiver. Heck, I hope he sucks donkey dick this year since he is on the Giants, but I need to be objective if I'm going to evaluate him.

I think they need Mahomes to be something most untested second year QBs aren't.

Chiefs in general need some 'neck up' fixes. Alex Smith got hurt a lot with disguises in coverage.

Mahomes has an arm cannon but his biggest knock coming out was his inconsistent mechanics with his deep ball which...kinda works against his main strength.

I think at this point its also fair to say that Sammy Watkins is still pretty raw.

Watkins career is already longer than the average one.

He's a secondary option imo. Not a bad guy to have, but not really a difference maker of any kind.

Not a bad addition, just don't see him making the jump in season 5 to what folks hoped for early in his career.

Hill and Kelce, if allowed, are the 2 that make that WR corps dangerous

I'm still waiting for the day for people to realize what I did a long time ago

That Sammy Watkins is a dime a dozen nobody

I guess the main point about the Chiefs is that passing itself is the secondary option but Watkins was 6th ranked WR in DVOA last year with a rookie coach and an 'unproven' 2nd year QB. I think he has already proven to be a difference maker of sorts in a similar situation.

He turns 26 this month. The Chiefs were trying to trade for him last year. Obviously they see something they like.

What is DVOA?

The last season Watkins was healthy and had a full offseason he put up 1080, over 17 YPC in an offense that had 465 attempts total. In 13 starts. The QB was Tyrod Taylor with 1 EJ Manuel Start.

So Chiefs fans just need to paste his picture over Alex Smith, Matt Cassel, Elvis Grbac and Marty Schottenheimer?

And I have no problem admitting I have watched very little of Shepherd with the Giants. Watched a ton on him when he was in the draft and really liked what I saw. So I will concede to your judgment as I know you have watched him a lot more than I have.

He says top trio and then lists 5 teams with no depth. Lol

Eagles' Jeffery, Agholor, Wallace can compete with what he listed there.
