I think Penny could be the next Kareem Hunt which works well with Alex Smith.

1) Barkley
2) Guice
3) Mitchell
4) Ronald Jones
5) Chubb
6) Penny
7) Kerryon Johnson
8) Mark Walton

this is how I'd rank the top 8 running backs. I like the top 8 and believe any of these players would be an improvement over Perine/Kelley.

I think there is a decent drop off after #4 but I still do like Chubb, Penny, Johnson, and Walton.

I must say Jones likely doesn't fit as he is Thompson 2.0. Walton has peaked my interest some and more so than Penny. If there was a top 10 list, I'm certain Ballage would be on it. If Guice, Mitchel and Chubb are gone, I hope we don't reach in the 2nd and hope we go defense again in round 2.

I'll take the question for what it is. Best FIT. Honestly, probably Guice. Guice is more of a contrast from Thompson than Michel is. You know Guice will lower the shoulder on 1st and 2nd.

Everyone wants that Ingram/Kamara combo. Guice is more Ingram than Michel and Thompson has a little Kamara in him. Honestly, I might be homer on this, but i thought Chris was borderline special last year.

However, I just like Michel a little more than Guice. If Michel had not ran that bad 40 at the combine I don't think there would even be a debate.

Michel and Thompson would cause all kinds of matchup problems. Is Michel an every down back? That's the question. We know Guice is. So fit? Guice. Preference? Michel

Given the choices, hands down it's Jones and it's not close. The main reson that some don't like the guy is because of his weight, but don't let that fool you, between the tackles he runs well because of his leg strength. Once he's at the linebackers, he's a great home run threat.

To me, after Barkley, it comes down to beyond pass catchers, a choice between, tackle breakers who will get you yards, or fleet guys who are threats to get you immediate scores.

After Barkley I like Guice's feet. Great patience and cuts in the hole. Sets up defenders well.

I dont think Jones is Thompson 2.0. Jones' receiving ability is one of the biggest question marks about his game and hes not a great pass protector either. Hes small and fast but thats about it.

Honestly? I dont like any of those in round 2. I prefer Johnson and Penny to Jones for now though.

I really like Guice and Chubb but I know theyre both gone in the mock.
