RS are wet dreams....

S you will love just fine. I commute 80k every day each way and i my S4 it's loads of fun.

Yep...I drove them both...the S5 V6 turbo and the RS 4.2...the 8 is a beast...addicting, but thirsty as hell....you're right, the S5 is plenty car.

I wasn't as keen on the A5 though...punchy and fun 0-60, but here in this crazy town, you want torque even doing 80.

S4/S5 are same car with 2 fewer doors on the S5. Older S5's had the V8 but no longer. And SC V6 in mine has more torque than the 8 had.

Never driven a newer S4/S5 with the twin turbo 6.

I think the RS I drove was a '11 or '12....the S5 was a '13....you could still get the 4.2 back then I think

S5/S4 little if any difference. I know a guy with an S4 Avant with the 4.2. My car is quicker off the line and more nimble, less weight.

The RS 4/5 are again similar and quicker than basic S by a fair bit.

The supercharged car can get more power easier than than the NA 8.

Great video!

I've never been a huge turbo guy...prefer the NA engine, the exhaust sound is part of the alluring attraction, but no doubt you can tweak the turbo to another level.

FWIW...even though I'm in coupe mode (would love a M 6sp) but I could do a wagon!

Not a turbo in the S4, a supercharger. I quite like having a blown engine.

And if you are buying a newer S5 you will have twin turbos on a 3 L 6.

And I love the DSG gearbox in my S4. Better than manual....

Bought wife a 535i LY...'13 with 23k mi...a bit large for my taste, but it's a nice driving car.

At some point I'd like to sell my G37 (which I really like) and get something like this...fewer miles than this one, but 98% of the time I get in my car, I'm the only one in it...time for a 2 door.

I don't need the RS5, but S5 will do.

I always chuckle when I see some older guy rekindling his youth buy buying some brand new pony car or Vette. They look so out of place in them.

I'll admit it's better than manifesting their inner Sonny Barger and getting a silly hog, but not by much.

A beauty!

These require a more mature driver (which I am)...too much power for the handling capabilities...my golf buddy's brother (I guess he's a friend of mine now) had a GT...black. It's too enticing...he nearly killed himself, rolled it. There's a cop that lives in my neighborhood...say he's seen at least a half dz GTs rolled...all 20something drivers.

If I were to go all out sports car, I would follow in my brother in law's steps and get this car...except I can't afford it...lol

Here it is in my driveway...6sp...on this day we took this baby up to road Atlanta and bought an hour of track time...3rd gear I had it to 95 mph...the beauty of driving it though are the curves...butthead traded this car for a blue one...automatic...nice but it's a weekend car for him, I would've stuck with the 6sp.

Nah...One thing if you never had a sports car of any kind and don't know how to drive one.
Another story if it's just another in a long line.

Nope.

Seeing some fat 60 year old in a Vette is simply silly.

You mean like this guy?
He's pushing 60....

Can't drive worth a fuck and doesn't deserve a nice car.

Fat old fuck should just lay down and die...

Pruett?

I think an old fart driving a flashy new sports car should take the same mirror test an old guy with a 20 something minx on his arm should take.

The Audi maybe...but might as well save 20k and just get a VW.

If you think an Audi is just a rebadged VW, you need to check out one newer than 2010. Across the board they're significantly nicer.

I take a train to work every day, so it's tough to justify two 50k+ cars, but if I were in the market for one, an RS3 would be my choice. I know that's going to be too small for you. I'd go look at an A or S5 sportback if you're in that Lincoln-sized car zone.

If I did buy an Audi, it would be an A8. However, it wouldn't be as nice as the new Continental for half the price.

Audis seem to have a lot of problems. A client had to Lemon-Law his new Q7. My brother put 200k miles on his A4, but said it had a list of problems every year or so.
So, I don't get the appeal of Audi. If you want a fast sedan, get a BMW and you might have fewer problems. The M series are great. If you want luxury for $100k, get an S series Mercedes.

How old are you??

If a guy knows how to drive it, buy it and drive it like you stole it.
If it is to make yourself feel young again, buy it and drive it like your protecting an heirloom.

WTF do I care, just don't clog the left lane.

An S8 blows away any fucking Lincoln. And an A8 would be fine too.

Old enough I don't want a kids car....

I never said they couldn't buy a Vette, just that they look silly in them.
