Back to Back Loses

I know it's hard to fault the Cougars doe losing to 2 pre-season top 25s, including #2 Oregon, but man I thought both those games were winnable and much closer than the 24 point losses they both turned into. In both games, turnovers killed them. Halliday has thrown 7 picks in the 2 games, and there have been more turnovers than just that. Mayle doesn't fumble on the 1, they most likely go in down 34-31 instead of 34-24. Then there was the horrible quarter and a half after halftime. Against Oregon State, Halliday just imploded, even getting pulled in the 4th. Though I never expected to win the games, it really sucks to know that other than a few mistakes, the Cougars should have been in both games.

yeah oregon state was way tougher to me than the oregon loss... i was just happy to have the game close at half... but we did have a shot at beating the ducks... however small that shot was..

Yeah, Oregon State was much harder because going in I thought we could possibly win. Oregon was just a surprise to be in it that late in the game. Still doesn't change that it really wasn't the opposition that won those games as much as the Cougars just imploded when the game was close. The Auburn game was the same way.

I'll have to admit, being on the verge of bowl eligibility is a surprise and I hope they make it. Just need to win one against Utah or Washington.
