POLL Astros/A's series

Just curious how you guys viewed it. I would have posted it yesterday but I have been out of town.

After the A's won yesterday, the Mariners are 3 back of the Astros in the West and 6 ahead of the A's for the 2nd wildcard.

Astro's... I feel more comfortable in the team competing for the WC spot than them competing for the Division at the end of the year...

I'd rather us distance ourselves from the A's and put into our own hands the catching of the Astro's if that was to ever happen...

Gotta take any advantage of gaining ground on the Astros that we can, and we should have an easier time handling the A's than we would Houston.

Stros- At first I thought Oakland but I'm on board with trying to grab a 2nd WC spot if it gets to that point. Not totally ruling out a run with the Astros for Division but I'm a realist and a WC slot would be a vast improvement for this team.

I'm kinda more in the boat of Oakland just going away. I still think its a long shot to catch the Astros but if we are close in September I will allow myself to pay a little more attention to them.

To me, we should all be rooting for the Astros. If Oakland keeps staying hot then they might surpass Seattle. I'm cool with having a pennant race in September chasing the Astros and coming up short, but chasing both the Astros and A's gives a high probability that the M's will end up on the outside looking in again.

Watching the way the A's almost pulled of that comeback and the way the Mariners are playing, the answer to this question actually seems pretty easy now.

We don't have a team that can compete on their level so knock the A's back cause they're kind of making a charge.
