I had always found it odd that Apple had never ventured into the gaming market to compete with the likes of Microsoft and Sony.

probably because when all is said and done the console would be bulletproof and cost $5,000

Gaming doesn't have the margins that pumping out new versions of your already high margin tablets and phones every year, has

Apple would patent the original IBM PC if they thought they could win a lawsuit or two doing so.

Yeah, that crap wears me out. I have said before that I'm glad Steve Jobs didn't invent the car. if they did they would sue everyone else for clear windshields, four tires, door handles, paint or chrome anything, rubber tires, etc.

The big lawsuit win this weekend won't help that any. The best news is that while Apple is busy defending its current stuff, other companies are making the next gen stuff.

Man, I wish I could see Wyo's reaction when he reads that I wrote this :)

And the improvements would be minuscule and not worth upgrading to.
Until you notice that the old one stops working after about 18 months

Why do you think it's hate. Are Apple products over priced for the hardware components they contain? Yes. But Microsoft software is over priced too. Good to see MS at least giving consumers a break on the new Windows 8 but I'll not buy it because I don't like it for desktops. Now if I should decided to buy a MS Surface I'll have no choice. I just call them as I see them.

I'm hoping Ubuntu/Linux gets a fix for the dual boot with Windows 8 on UEFI. Last I read they were close to it.

that would be nice

honestly....i could still see windows making an option to scale back the GUI on W8-pro after the backlash hits

unfortunately i don't think our software will run on it......and if it does i know that we would lose our tech support

but that is quite fantastic

Too bad you can't take it home and test it with WINE. The newest version of WINE seems to run a lot more Windows software than before, but the issue with printers and remote devices still causes a lot of problems when using WINE.
