Just watched a horrible youtube video on the most one-dimensional players of all- time, so I figured I'd take a few minutes from my insane life and give you guys my all-one dimensional NBA team:

PG - J. J. Reddick
SG - Jeff Malone
SF - Kyle Korver
PF - Dennis Rodman
C - Manute Bol

I got lazy with Rodman - he could play D as well as rebound, but I really didn't want to look much deeper.

VERY. Most overrated player of all-time. Great defender

He might be overrated, but one-dimensional he was not. You can't deny that the guy averaged 15 points per game for his career. Whether you like him or not, he was a great rebounder, great defender, very good passer for a center and an above average scorer. Despite all that - I was sure someone from this board was gonna put Bill Russell as a one-dimensional player when I thought about putting up this thread.

I'm surprised no one liked my Manute Bol pick more. I mean, I can't imagine another player in NBA history who literally did one thing well and nothing else more than Bol. Even Eaton was less one-dimensional than Bol. He was the whole reason I even made the thread.

@UK Cowboy, very good choice with Rambiss, I should have remembered him. Much better choice than Rodman.

Korver gets an unfair stigma because he lacks athleticism, but while his man defense lacks his team defense was always solid. He is rarely out of position.

PG - Steve Kerr - Was going Brevin Knight, but he had some solid D
SG - Andre Roberson - WIGGINS!!!!! at least he scores in a lot of different ways?
SF - Steve Novak
PF - Reggie Evans
C - Chris Anderson

His 2pts a game was amazing but he wasn't 1 dimensional he sucked in other areas as well. If you score only 2pts a game you better have a better blocking avg then 3 per game and 4 rebounds a game. My God 7-7 and you can't get more then 4 rebounds a game???

Exactly. Dude was one dimensional. All he did well was block shots.

Per 36 (career) Reb, Ast, Stl, Blk, Pts
Bol - 8.1, 0.5, 0.4, 6.4, 4.9
Eaton - 9.9, 1.2, 0.5, 4.4, 7.5
Andersen - 10.2, 1.0, 0.9, 2.9, 11.0
Wallace - 11.8, 1.6, 1.5, 2.4, 7.0
Russell - 19.1, 3.6, N/A, N/A, 12.8

These are the centers that have been mentioned thus far. Bol is far superior to all of them in blocked shots - but far inferior in everything else. But, hey - had his coached not feared the unconventional nature of the stretch 5 - maybe Bol coulda been Steph Curry!

I think Reggie Evans is the Michael Jordan of one dimensional player. 2nd all time in rebound rate, 0.6 block rate, took 2.9 shots per game

I was pointing out how shockingly bad he was. It’s impressive to have 3 blocks a game but can’t rebound.

All these players are one dimensional but I thought we were finding the best at each position. The reason why I tried to find AS’s or HOFrs.

I was shooting for most one dimensional. Best one dimensional is also interesting.

One dimensional is really hard to say... Eaton, Wallace, Rambis, Bol, Kerr and Scott are all great examples but after that it’s pretty hard to say others didn’t do this or that... for instance Rondo was a great distributor and defender... Bowen could shoot the 3 and a great defender... most players had to offer a second skill or they wouldn’t be in the NBA imo...

Tony Allen has to be the most one dimentional player to have a substantial 14-year career in the NBA. He literally did nothing on offense. He couldn't shoot, wasn't really a ball handler or passer. He was purely out there for defense only and even then he didn't really rebound either.

Would it be alright if I listed Zero Dimensional players? Nevermind, just go look at the all time roster for the Minnesota Timberwolves minus The Kid!
