It does look like it has potential. It looks pretty cool. However, the huge change makes me think they threw in the towel, knowing that as far as straight up war games go, they can't compete with Battlefield anymore. Matter of fact, they never could, but now its REALLY obvious on consoles.

COD is still the largest game franchise in history and it's not ending with AW.

I don't see MLG competitive events for Battlefield with 20k live spectators and 150k online viewers... Or Million dollar tournaments. Matter of fact I don't see any.

I guess "low gravity/superjumping" is the new thing all shooter games need to have.

I say one reason for that is a lot of lazy gamers that want to be spoon fed action immediately. It's simple to pick up a COD game, pick up a gun and pull the trigger. It is.

Battlefield is the more respected game though, easily. The nail in COD's coffin, like I said, as far as war games are concerned, is pretty much done with this new COD style game. They know it, too.

I am a fan and have been playing both games since their beginnings on the PC, and I am no Battlefield fanboy.

It's not. It's almost twice as slow. I think 5-6 bullets does the job in AW where Ghosts is 3-4 on average.

Sledgehammer really needs to nail the map design. One of the glaring problems with Ghosts was that the maps were too large and too
cluttered. It seems that they are going for a more "Black Ops 2" feel, so I expect some good medium sized, 3 lane maps (although the added vertical element to the gameplay may make the idea of map lanes obsolete).
