With the addition of four new members, things got a little interesting.

Instead of going with the 3-3-5 set up they had been operating under, went full flex with rivalry games. Some as many as 3 permanent rivals. Some with zero.

This is not bad. They did a good job of making it interesting and fair.

And by keeping it at 8 games, it clearly makes it very easy to add the Notre Dame games for everyone as the "unofficial" 9th game each year.

They can probably now get ND to commit to probably 7+ games at least every year, since one of the Irish more important rivals is Stanford.

ND has a little too much power, but their brand value keeps the ACC as the #3 league. And giving them this flexibility will insure ND stays put.

Given that FSU and Clemson are looking for an escape hatch, that's a bold move.

Sounds like a conference puffing its chest out more knowing it has a losing hand.

Just wonder how many leave the ACC when the time comes. Is there a recognizable rump conference? Or is it just tits up.

sorry, this is just f'n weird. we're ditching schools we have 100+ year history with to travel to a location that are seriously out of roadie range. really sucks for non football sports with multiple games per week. can believe acc golf programs are excited about dealing with west coast poa annua on a regular basis

sucks for alumni, sucks for rivalries. probably good for the media lords and likely with the addition of Stanford and Cal now the ACC has a shot at all time NCAA titles. j

on the bright side maybe we'll see Saturday afternoon kickoffs in Palo Alto to grab eastern time zone eyeballs...

sorry for the rant, just really pissed
