If Manaea is back next year, and he pitches like he did tonight, I am all for him holding a spot in the rotation. I do think Winn and Beck also deserve a shot at the 5th starter spot. If you can get decent pitching for 4 to 5 innings, there is no need to tax the bullpen terribly like they did this year. Walker, Tyler Rogers and Doval are 3 examples of being overworked.

I think Baggs may have mentioned that Manaea is a Boras client, and may very well opt out. He has had a pretty good 2nd half, one of the very few Giants that can be said about.

Baggs also mentioned that this was Doval's first road save since July 18th?!? (And I was at that game in the Queen City) Can that be possible? Granted, he hasn't had much opportunity for saves.

I will disagree with you and msgkings322 as to the extent of him doing better but his August and September have looked good. There have been some flashes in some areas in previous months but it seems like August is when he finally put it all together. Boras will sell the crap out of those two months.

Putting aside the meaninglessness, fun game! Beat LA, great pitching and and old fashioned start from Manaea of all people. I think you guys underestimate him he's been pretty good since an ugly start
Cool story Glen.

Hope he opts out.

Why do you hate the trans community so? If your aunt had testicles, she would be a lovely woman, and it is just your toxic masculinity that would deny her that truth.

True.

I feel judged and shamed.

Can never have enough pitching depth. I think he can pitch, one of our best pitchers after the break actually
While this is true, I don't want to gamble $12.5M on him actually not pitching like shit.

Again, depth and that's not that much money. As we have seen some of the guys we expect to do well will not. Hope he opts in, I think he can continue his good play into next year. All contracts are gambles.
