Yet another completely off topic question...

I am looking at getting a dog. Outside of the humane society, what is a good place to look at getting a dog. I don’t want to go through a breeder. I prefer the adoption route.

The local animal shelter is one option and there are usually rescue organizations for specific breeds in most cities.

New dog to go with the new house? Great idea.

We got our dog through a foundation that took in dogs from kill-shelters and the employees would foster them in their homes. You could try looking into that if there's one near you, as the dog would possibly be a bit more house-trained

If you do that often enough, your neighbors may be comfortable with you having a dog (if it means you stop screaming).

First of all, why in the hell would Noggin allow Dutch out there for the 7th? He gave them 6 strong innings. Let the bullpen guys each get a clean inning from there. 1-2-3-win!

I observed last year that the Dodgers had the fewest inherited runners in baseball. Why? The manager was loathe to do anything but give his relievers clean innings to start, if at all possible. Noggin seems to have a much longer leash, and it is bucking the trend in baseball. And it isn't working all that well.

We're fond of rescues, and our preference has been Cocker Spaniels. We have had a bunch. Our latest was from a woman who raises dogs to show. Dempsey was bought by her to show, but he had a significant underbite. She decided $3000 for the doggie orthodontist was too much, so she basically gave him away to a good home. The dog show world is a strange one.
