Belt is just absolutely terrible right now. Geez. He needs to get it together...

I feel bad for him but he's going the way of the last dozen 1B prospects we've had... I hope he can turn it around.

Also Burriss is just suck.

I'd be surprised if both guys are on the team come early/mid August.

How quickly things turn looked like Belt was progressing and now he's as bad as he's ever been.

I don't remember ever reading that he was out of options earlier in the year when some were arguing that he should go to the minors.

Get Pill back up here. If Sanchez doesn't get hurt, perhaps the Giants can be more patient. It's been (almost) an entire season of ineptitude from Belt.

Still, 4-2 on the roadie with a tough loss in extras to the Philth, is an acceptable result.

Call me crazy, but I believe the corpse of Earle Combs could have performed better today that Brandon Belt.

Just got back from seeing the Nats take BP against Jurrjens and the Braves, winning 9-2. Zimmerman hit two homers for the Nats.

Very nice ball park, and little crowded in the few entrances to the park from the local Metro station. Still, a nice park, a nice feel to it, very nice sight lines. Not the Phone Booth, mind you, but a very nice park.

Nice to see the Nats honoring their long and sordid history, from the early days in DC, to the soon to be Twins, to the Expos, and even honoring the Washington Grays of the old ***** League.

A good experience. Would recommend it for you if you are in the DC area.

Call me crazy, but I believe the corpse of Earle Combs could have performed better today that Brandon Belt.

Belt needs the Timmeh treatment (time line) - given X number of games to sort it out or be sent back down to do it in AAA.

I know it seems he doesn't handle pressure well and I really want this kid to succeed but this team is looking like a real playoff threat and we can't carry Belt down the stretch or in the big games.

Of course not sure what options we have, but at this point I would try Pill again if we don't see improvement very quickly.

Unfortunately I think it's simpler, he's from SD and likes it there.
