Looks like Panik saw it, upon review, but Beede was late. Panik had to freeze because if Beede goes to the plate Panik wanted to be in position. But with the freeze Panik got there late too.

At least that's my assessment.

As a right-handed batter, Kelby should have no responsibility on that play. It was all Panik, Hundley, Beede and Belt.

It looked like Panik was late, and Beede had to hold on because there was no one on the bag (I think pitchers are not allowed to throw to players not on the bag). Since the only real variable in the equation is KT, I figured it was him, but you are right that with a RH hitter, it was Panik’s play.

I was hoping that he would come out strong* today and displace Blach

Just looked at the schedule and roster. While we have tomorrow off, that doesn’t really help the rotation. We will still need to stay with 5.

So unless Sammy is activated as well, we are stuck with Beede for at least 1 more start.

Tuesday - Cueto
Wednesday - Stratton
Thursday - Blach
Friday - Holland (another who needs to be replaced)
Saturday - Beede

Sammy threw yesterday (rough start, but he settled down; he may be ready) and would be scheduled for Wednesday. Maybe they give him a short outing to try to reset his schedule?

Oshit is the obvious first option, but then that leaves us with only 1 lefty in the pen. I guess that leaves Law, but he looked great the other night. But the Giants only have 1 bad righty in the pen, and he ain’t going anywhere.
