I agree with most of this.

Trade Manny now for the best you can get. Hopefully, 1 top level prospect.

Hope Jones, Brach, Britton, O'Day, Alverez, Trumbo, and Schoop come back and play well and trade all of them at the deadline.

Schoop should bring back some decent prospects since he is under contract next season.

I would hold onto Bundy, Givens, and probably Guasman for now.

They need prospects and need to get some via trades. Tank the year and get the first draft pick for next season. Start the rebuild now.

At this point, this team is probably bad enough to get the #1 pick without even trying. So, they might as well apply the "all or nothing" approach and try to maximize future value by unloading the entire 25-man roster.

(Yes, that means even trading Bundy if a fair offer is available. Note that this doesn't necessarily mean having to rush the "real" prospects to the MLB-- if they still need more time to develop, the Orioles organization could always fill out the major league roster with inexpensive scrubs in the meantime.)

Exactly my point... that's why it makes sense to trade everyone on the 25-man roster--including Bundy--before their value starts dropping further.

(Seriously, though: That's Bundy's 3rd consecutive bad game. Considering that it's only May, fatigue is unlikely to be an explanation; you have to wonder if he's hurt...)

Yeah I do think there's something wrong that nobody's letting on. You don't go from being that dominant in the first few starts to that horrible that quickly without there being something that's happened.
This is why I wish we started the rebuild at the trade deadline last year (like the Yankees did the previous season). Our pitching staff was horrible, so there was no way they were going to make the wild card with all of those teams that were in the chase. We'd have half a season head start on the rebuild and gotten better prospects more than likely than we will now.

Fans should boycott Camden Yards. Why pay to watch abysmal play? This team is competing to break the 1988 season losing record of 54 wins.:mad2:

At this point, they can succeed where Rachel Phelps couldn't if they continue playing like this. Manage not to draw 750k total all year and move the team and start over.

At this point they need to trade just about everyone on the MLB roster. They need more decent young prospects.

With Schoop and Trumbo back in the line-up, the team looks rejuvenated and is showing some fight.

Is this a fluke or is it a possibility that they can work their way back to .500 ball by the All Star break? :noidea:

Yeah, Beckham wasn't doing too hot at 3rd and Valencia is average. Hopefully, the Birds will bring up some of this young talent. They just need to be added, gradually, and given a chance. Keeping Tillman and O'Day on DL might help the pitching.

Getting rid of all the vets wouldn't be a smart move -- unless, the team is 20+ games back and still way below .500 by All-Star break.

Hess looked great and Peterson made some solid plays. Nice win. The offense is back to where it should be.

If this team can go on a prolonged winning streak, and continue to win series, they can be back to .500 by mid-June.

As terrible as this may sound: "Be careful what you wish for." After all, the danger with reaching 0.500 by mid-season is that the front office would most likely be deluded into thinking that they could contend for a wild card spot again. The only way to force them to focus on the rebuild process is for the 2018 Orioles to stay dead last all season long.
