My mom told me last night that she wants me to take her to see Elton John's farewell tour show. I just found out the cheapest seats are $230. Hopefully she doesn't want to see him that much.

oh man. Jawbreaker did NOT sound like a band that was on a 21-year hiatus. Charly Bliss were really good too. What a great fucking night.

Next show will be The Lillingtons in April.

I'm seeing Pink at the Wells Fargo Center (tickets were a birthday present for my mom) in April. I actually like her stuff, but I wouldn't go myself normally.

Hope to see ELO in August.

Seeing John Prine in a month. Another bucket-lister for me.

Dude is a living legend, and an American institution.
Seems like there's only a handful of those still left.
Saw him last October. Great song writer & story teller.

Enjoy.

Agreed. I think he's one of the best songwriters of all-time. I'm pretty stoked.

Social Distortion’s on the road this summer. I’m not gonna go, someone should though.

why not bech

I’ve seen them a couple times. Three times actually. I see a band like social distortion coming and get all excited, then I get a couple tickets qued up, see the $200 with fees staring back at me and realize I’m good with the fond meamories I have from when I saw them 15 years ago for $35.

Totally understand. $100 is the most I'll spend on a concert ticket, and it better be a living legend. As much as I like Social D, they are not in that category yet for me. (Plus, I've seen em' a couple times too) I paid $90 for Clapton and $90 for Prine....that's about as far as I'll go. Most the shows I see nowadays, I usually spend more on merch. than I did on the tickets.

For all the hub bub about concert ticket prices being jacked up, most shows I've seen in the last 5 years have come in around $35 a ticket. That's tolerable.
