AZ's probably the leader of the Pac going into Pac play, once again, but the conference is probably as strong as it's been since '09 when 60% of the conference danced. There will be a lot of cannibalizing going on, but those are going to get us ready for good games in harsh environments that a weak Pac can't provide. Anyone have any predictions? I'll go with:

AZ 12-6
Utah 11-7
Oregon 11-7
CU 11-7
Cal 10-8
UCLA 10-8
USC 10-8
OSU 9-9
ASU 9-9
UW 6-12
WSU 5-13
Stan 4-14

I don't know, we'll see how it shakes out.

That's a pretty good prediction! I don't see two 13-5 teams this year, but me predicting 7 teams all within 2 games at the top is probably a little closer than how it will most likely shake out.

Zeus good to go tomorrow

Good to hear. Need to get the big man back in the groove. ASPoo would be the perfect time to remind us all who he is.

Decent win. I think ASU might be okay this year, but regardless, putting up 90+ is good to see.

On to SoCal!

I haven't felt this good about Zona's offense this early in the season in a long time.

I agree. Miller kept Zeus' minutes low and yet still got him back in action. I think that's huge for practice this week and getting ready for SoCal. The road trips this year are going to be brutal (Utah and CU, Oregon and OSU, and USC with UCLA). I know we don't play @UO and OSU, but overall, it's going to be touch on the road this season.

A sweep of the SoCal schools would give us massive momentum in January. BTFD

I feel a little uneasy about playing UCLA @ home tonight with them being 0-2 in the conference. They would've been motivated either way I think... but now I think they'll also feel desperate.

I'd be happy with a split this week... but a sweep would be awesome.

Anyone who takes UCLA lightly would be foolish. I'm nervous playing them no matter what. Hell, they beat UK on that floor.

Miller knows better. He won't take them lightly. Kentucky probably didn't either. UCLA has become one of those teams that always seems to underperform in general...just hope we don't get them on a night when they are all bringing their A games...not that we can't win...but we could lose.

BEAR DOWN!

Yeah, I'm not worried about Zona taking them lightly at all. Just uneasy about UCLA being in a position where they should be very motivated and desperate. UCLA seems to be a team capable of beating anyone but also capable of losing to mediocre teams. I guess I just feel like any hope of getting the bad version of UCLA tonight went out the window with them being swept last week.

Yeah, I wasn't surprised when UCLA made the Sweet 16 last year after all the rattling about them not belonging in the tourney. They are just a spazzy team. The polls surprisingly seem to grasp that and have kept them highly ranked despite not really having the record for it.

As good as Ristic is on offense he is just as bad on defense. It's time for Zeus to start again. This loss would almost be easier to swallow if we didn't make that comeback. Fuck UCLA. We better crush them in McKale.

I hate when the Cats let one guy walk all over them. Not the first time Alford has had a huge game where nobody on AZ could figure out how to cover him. That goofy dude from Wisconsin single-handedly beat them in the tourneys. The list goes on.

They need to figure out who (if there is one?) is their best lock-down defender and assign him to these guys in these games.

11-22 from 3 for UCLA. These type of games are the toughest to swallow.

There was no doubt in my mind as the clock was ticking down under 8 seconds that Alford was going to take a step back 3 so I just don't understand why Kaleb backed off when he did. Kaleb actually played really well on the other switches he got caught on late in the game.

I think Miller needs to accept that this team will never be a dominant defensive team. he killed our momentum at least twice with timeouts because he was mad about our defense but we had just made a big shot. I'm not blaming miller but I think he needs to stop using timeouts after made baskets. Also we could've used a timeout on the last play of the game.

Lute's teams always killed people with pace and offense. Miller needs to adapt to his roster. This roster is built to score more than it is to defend.

Frustrating. Needed to come away with a split. They have to get a win streak going starting next game.
