We signed Gordon Beckham today.

He should be a cheap quality glove man coming off the bench, but somehow I can't help but think he will be our starting third baseman with Olivera being transitioned to the outfield.

Looks like we're also non tendering Mike Minor and Pedro Ciriaco.

Neither one is a surprise. Ciriaco is a journeyman AAAA player, and Minor's arm injuries have derailed his once promising career.

We signed Tyler Flowers just now. He'll likely be our backup catcher this season, reuniting him with his former teammate, AJ Pierynski.

I guess this means we've given up on Christian Bethancourt. He's getting a little old to be considered a top prospect anymore.

Ender Inciarte is the main piece we're getting in return. He will be our center fielder and lead off man.

I was hoping for AJ Pollack, but Inciarte is young, has years of team control left and will immediately be our second best position player.

Ender Inciarte along with prospects Aaron Blair and Dansby Swanson are the reports I'm seeing.

I'm fine with this move.

We finally got a good bat in return as the centerpiece of a trade.

Yup, I've no problem with this one either.

Dansby Swanson is rated as the 10th best prospect in all of baseball as well.

And Aaron Blair is ranked 61st.

We currently have 6 prospects on the top 100 list

10. Dansby Swanson
19. Sean Newcomb
30. Ozhaino Albies
61. Aaron Blair
69. Touki Toussaint
88. Kolby Allard

3 of them we got from the Diamondbacks in the past year, and Newcomb was acquired in the Andrelton Simmons trade.

We might not like the process, but the trades have given us some youngsters to be excited about in the future.

I was surprised to see he AND Inciarte in the deal. Pretty damn good haul.

Same here. It'll be a while before we see him in the big league level, but we definitely can't complain about the haul we got back in this one.

Excellent trade, in my opinion.

I don't think we could have got much more of a haul for Miller.

Inciarte is a very good hitter with speed and a glove.

Swanson was the first overall pick just last season.

Blair is projected to be a 3-4 starter and the 61st ranked prospect in all of baseball.

Well he certainly couldn't have done worse than the trade preceding this one....so at least he is improving

While I'm not a fan of the Simmons trade, we did get the Angels best two pitching prospects.

The trade we've made that I've hated the most was what amounted to Peraza and Wood for Olivera. But that was a John Hart trade.

Lots of work to do for those two still....I wouldn't be surprised if one flames out

Straight up robbed the D-backs. Don't care how good Miller's #s were this year, he's not an Ace, just a solid #2 or #3 pitcher, and we got 2 top prospects and solid OF for him
