You fell victim to one of the classic blunders.
Unless the Ducks rally from a 3-goal deficit with 11 minutes to play, the Hawks will play the Kings for the second year in a row for the Western Conference Title.
Should be a great series, winner should probably win the Cup.
I feel the same way.
I felt coming into the playoffs the 4 best teams were the Hawks, Kings, Bruins and Pens (not in any order). Bruins and Pens obviously knocked out, now I feel like this match up is the Cup.
Hawks are one of the few teams that could matchup with the Kings, mainly because they got the dmen to withstand the Kings ferocious forecheck. At least that's my take. Other teams buckle against the Kings' forecheck where the Hawks own it.
Good point.
But one thing that scares me about the Kings is their depth. Most teams can't match the depth that the Hawks bring to the table, but LA can. That worries me coming into this series.
12 If I have to hear how the Hawks are lucky to have won, I wanna puke. You make your own luck in hockey. Saad's goal good work by having net front presence and the deflection. Keith makes a nice play. Sure, it hits under the guys stick and then shoots up like a superball, but that's also hockey. Taffoli hits the post in a 2-1 game, but hey...shoot better then.
Crawford made some great saves. The lone Kings' goal was pretty.
Really impressed with Saad's play. Glad for him that he got a goal.
As for the reffing, there have been bad calls in each round.
But the most irritating thing to me is the pushing, shoving and punching AFTER the whistle. EVERY whistle. And of course, I'm talking about the Blues/Wild/Kings.' players. The Hawks are at the bottom of the "hits" stat, and it is plain to everyone in the NHL that the Hawks are not a hitting team. Yet the NHL/refs let other teams do the extra-curricular nonsense after every whistle.
I applaud the Hawks for not getting caught up in that garbage most of the time. But I'm disappointed that the league as whole (Mr. Bettman) doesn't do more to curb that.
