I figure its about that time...

Some good storylines heading into this new season as well:

- Both Mark Reynolds and Lyle Overbay have made the 25-man roster while 26-year old Juan Francisco has had his locker cleared out.

- Scooter Gennett came into the Cactus League the favorite to retain the starting 2B gig but he's struggled mightily at the plate this Spring while Rickie Weeks is red hot.

- Matt Garza turned in a sharp, 6-inning start against the Reds on Sunday but remains an injury concern who has an ERA over 10.00 this Spring.

- Jean Segura remains a star-in-the-making but has been hampered by a shoulder injury

- Carlos Gomez has been named the leadoff hitter; filling the void left by Aoki's departure

Nice to salvage at least one. Peralta is pretty damn good for a #5

On to Pittsburgh now to re-establish their dominance.........................I hope.

Peralta might turn out to be the Brew Crew's best pitcher this year. I think he's probably the most talented . That win was huge for them last night, it would have been horrible if the Cardinals would have swept us at home. Why didn't Braun play last night?

I haven't seen any official statement but fear that his thumb is acting up again. Probably not a bad decision to rest him as his AB's in the first 2 Cards games looked horrible.

Agreed about Peralta, he's easily got the highest ceiling. His first half to second half last year was absolutely night and day. Love the pitcher he's growing in to.

I don't mind the current bench, but with Braun's thumb issues may have been wise to carry a 5th outfielder, but there's really not any trade off's I'd be comfortable making.

As a side note, was anyone else impressed by Wei-Chung Wang's debut? He looked good. I know the Brewers like him, and I think he's got a big upside but I'm not sure there's room for a developmental arm, not pitching consistently is stunting his development.

The key is they have to keep him up or lose him. He could be a real find if things pan out and they can ease him in. But yes Wang pitched well.

Let's face it their mission is keeping Wang up. Maybe they could use that to recruit women to the park.

Too many errors lately, the Brewers have definitely won some games that they shouldn't be winning. Horrible error by Rickie Weeks, should have been an out or double play on the ball fielded by Ramirez, poorly played ball by Braun in right that should have been caught and a pitcher not ready to field his position giving up a two out hit that later scores because he wasn't ready to field.

All this coming after a four error game the night before. They've really looked sloppy lately but still won the last two, unreal.

Good teams find a way to win. I won't let myself get carried away as it is still April but I'm sure loving what I am seeing so far.

I'm cautiously optomistic. I still see holes in their game but so far like the pitching. We started out playing great defense and that's one thing I think the Brewers need. I am looking forward to see if Peralta has turned the corner. He has an arm like a no. 1 and hopefully has found his stride. Go out and win this series from the padres now.
