The Giants, as a team, came into today slashing .248/.311/.383/.694.

With RISP, they were slashing .249/.334/.381/.714.

They are actually a better clutch hitting team than they are a non-clutch-hitting team.

top of the 12th

5 pitches

3 outs,

2 popups in foul territory. We can't even hit a ball fair anymore.

1 gb to 2nd

Offensive juggernaut this team is.
It isn’t even sad anymore. It is to the point where I don’t even care. The offense is that bad. I don’t care.

I know I shouldn't be surprised. I know I shouldn't be frustrated by the $200 million AA performing team that takes the field every day. I know I shouldn't care. Still sad.

Did I join just in time to see Law give away the game? If so, I'm sorry.

I hear my neighbor's kid hitting balls in their backyard batting cage. Should I check if someone could fire up a Concorde to get him suited up in a Giant uniform in NY?

Pre-ASB, Giants had 110 two-out RBI's in 98 games (1.12/game)

Post-ASB, Giants have 34 two-out RBI's in 28 games (1.21/game)

Improved Clutchiness?

Well yeah, this is who we are. Year's over, we are playing out the string. Good to great pitching unbearably bad hitting. No reason to get upset or care anymore, that's the sole benefit of having no chance.

They had a plan, it wasn't a bad plan. They did not expect everyone to have their worst hitting years ever: Posey, Panik, Cutch, Longo, Crawford (maybe not worst ever but one of), almost the entire lineup all shitty together. The book is written, now on to next year.

Cutch steals 3rd

Then Posey grounds out, runner at home out.

Now 1st and 3rd and two outs.

It is almost comical how bad these hitters have been. It's like at the ASB a switch was flipped from "decent hitters" to "terrible hitters."

Kinda want this to go 27 innings with no more runs scored. I want Posey to pitch the last 6 innings.

Stokes, buddy, embrace the soothing power of not caring anymore what happens.
