Seven games series, team 5 takes it 4-2. Two more crazy good lineups, the difference to me is that team 5's starting pitchers would be more competitive against team 6's lineup. Team 6's staff would have all kids of trouble with team 5 IMO

Team Five has the best 1-9 lineup, IMO. Good speed at the top and good power and balance throughout.

Team Six is no slouch though. The best leadoff man ever and Wade Boggs would do plenty of table setting for The Big Cat and Lord Helmet.

Tanana in his 20's was an overpowering fireballer. And we all know what Morris can do in big games. I vote 5.

Team 5 for me as well.

Another consistent strong middle of the order with good speed at the top.

I look for a good bench with hitting, speed and power. I think team 5 has that.

First, I would have preferred if he had led Coleman off instead of batting him second, even if his OBP is lower than Biggio's, his speed in that situation begs to get on without Biggio ahead of him, where if he gets out, Biggio is still second, but that's a personal preference. As is putting Olerud at first instead of DH.

I really don't like the pitching staffs in this matchup, neither is all that great (compared to what others put up), so it really comes down to the better line up. I think that goes to 5.

You guys really think Coleman is better suited at the top? Just because of his ridiculous speed? Biggio's a much better leadoff guy IMO. It's not like I have Vince following Cal Ripken or Lance Parrish....

It was a tough call on who to start in left. I honestly thought I was losing value by not having vince as a pinch runner. Only spot without a Gold Glover starting and none of the other options would change that.

not saying Biggio isn't fine on top but I would completely and whole heartedly rather have Biggio in the 2 spot over Coleman because he has the better bat and I like bat control guys in the two spot over speed guys.

As Nos ever so politely pointed out though.... He's 20th AllTime in Ks. 2spot is always a mover over guy, in my mind. And with Biggio being the doubles machine that he is, figured Vince could lay em down and we'd take our chances having men on first and third with nobody down for Dave. Or worst case, a man on third and one out.

But I'll take you and stokes advice for round two and flip flop em. (Roberts would have been a great guy for the 2 hole.)

It's not that Biggio isn't a good option at the lead off, it's that Coleman is a bad option at the #2. Biggio had nearly identical career numbers at #2 as he did at #1 (.284/.364/.432/.796 vs. .284/.370/.447/.817). Coleman on the other hand really only batted lead off (1275 of his career 1291 starts were in the lead off). Coleman averaged 2.27 bases a game for his career (Total bases + walks + HBP + SB), where Biggio averaged 1.72.

Biggio gets on base more often(about 4 times in 100 plate appearances), but Coleman gets into scoring position more often. As they say, "speed kills".
